Course Booking Terms & Conditions

The Electronics Group – Booking Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 1st August 2021

These ‘Terms & Conditions’ may be subject to change without prior notice.

 

Quotes, Bookings & Course Availability

  • Quotes along with a quote number are valid for 30 days from the date the quote was provided
  • Course costs and availability are subject to change, and cannot be guaranteed unless a signed booking form has been received
  • All pricing is subject to VAT at the appropriate rate
  • Prior to booking on to any course, please ensure you have read the ‘Course Contents’ to ensure the course will meet your training needs and delegates meet any pre-requisites, where stated
  • If course registration / course booking forms are completed by an individual other than the name delegates, it is the responsibility of the employer to ensure the candidate(s) is suitable for the course
  • Your booking will be confirmed upon receipt of signed agreement to course T&C’s, complete booking form, and payment terms being met
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: EGLs acceptance of your booking brings into existence a legally binding contract between EGL and the Customer, on these conditions. Any term sought to be imposed by you in any purchase order or correspondence will NOT form part of the contract

 

Workshop, Equipment or Technical Inspection Services

  • All workshop hire, equipment hires, or technical inspection services, including but not limited to x-ray, optical inspection, or environmental chamber testing, will be under the same booking terms and conditions as above and below
  • It is the customers responsibility to ensure that EGL are furnished with all relevant information prior to commencement of inspection services
  • EGL accepts no responsibility for loss or damage of products being shipped to / from EGL and / or the customer where items are in the custody of a third party, such as a courier company
  • EGL does not, as standard, provide insurance on any products being returned to customers but can do so at an additional charge, to be agreed prior to shipping being arranged

 

Payment Terms & Purchase Orders

  • Fees are payable upon booking unless a valid, authorised purchase order is provided and accepted
  • Invoices will be sent via email to the name and email address provided on the booking form and must be paid within 30 days of the invoice date or not later than 14 days prior to the start of the course, whichever date occurs sooners (“the due date”)
  • Credit and payment terms can be mutually agreed outside of these terms and the discretion of EGL Management
  • Purchase orders may be accepted in lieu of payment at the time of booking at EGLs sole discretion
  • A deposit may be required for loan equipment or equipment being brought to your site
  • Acceptance of purchase orders is subject to EGLs prior approval for credit terms
  • Purchase orders shall not be accepted from any customer at any time during which the customer’s account is place on ‘stop’ due to default
  • Non-payment of invoices within agreed timescales can result in additional charges or interest being applied and future credit agreements being withdrawn
  • If any amount properly due to EGL under, or in connection with these terms and conditions remains outstanding beyond the due date, EGL may charge interest on the overdue amount at the rate of 8% per annum based on the above base rate of Lloyds Bank PLC from time to time (which interest will accrue daily until the date of actual payment, be compounded quarterly, and be payable on demand); or claim interest and statutory compensation pursuant to the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998
  • Payments must be made in GBP or Pounds Sterling, by credit / debit card or BACs unless otherwise agreed with EGL

Cancellations and Amendments

  • All requests for cancellations and / or amendments must be received in writing
  • Should any cancellations or changes be agreed, the effective date will be the date the written request was received
  • The appropriate cancellation or postponement fee will apply based on the cost of your booking, as shown below. Extenuating circumstances will be charged at EGLs discretion
  • In the event of full course cancellation four weeks or less before the start of the course, the full course will be due and payable. In the event of postponement, the following fees will be charged as follows:

 

30 days or more before course start date                                         Nil

14 – 20 days before course start date                                              30% of the course cost

8 – 13 days before course start date                                                50% of the course cost

7 days or less before course start date                                             75% of the course cost

The Electronics Group reserves the right to cancel or substitute course dates at a minimum of 7 days’ notice, unless in extenuating circumstances

 

  • In the event of an individual named on the booking form cannot attend, EGL will accept substitution of another delegate on the condition that written notification is received by us prior to the course start date
  • If the individual named on then booking form is unable to attend, and cannot or does not wish to transfer their place to another delegate, a percentage of the course fee will be charged in line with the above table
  • Any changes, transfer, amendments, cancellations must be authorised by EGL Management

 

Course Provisions

  • In the event of there being insufficient numbers booked on a course, EGL reserves the right to cancel or postpone the course
  • In the event of course cancellation by EGL, we will endeavour to inform all delegates and their employers no less than 7 days prior to the commencement of the course, although this may not always be possible in exceptional circumstances. In this event, all course fees will be reimbursed in full, or the monies transferred in full to another EGL course. The Electronics Group shall not accept liability for any consequential loss and shall have no liability to reimburse any other costs that may be incurred such as, but not limited to, travel or accommodation charges
  • Accommodation and travel costs are the full responsibility of the delegate and / or their employer
  • Refreshments, including tea, coffee, and soft drinks, as well as lunch, is provided on all full day courses unless otherwise stated, and is included as a non-removable charge in the course cost. EGL must be notified in writing of any special dietary requirements in advance of the course commencing
  • EGL will provide all necessary textbooks, laptops, workmanship kits, and consumable products needed for any course, unless otherwise stated
  • Damage to EGL equipment due to negligence, improper use or operation can incur a charge for repair or replacement
  • EGL accepts no responsibility for vehicles parked on site or near the site before, during or after any training course, meeting, or other such reason
  • Disabled access is available to the building, prior notice must be given to ensure all accessibility is enabled in advance or arrival
  • EGL supports delegates with a range of learning difficulties and additional support, or provisions can be made to aid learning

 

Extenuating Circumstances

  • If you are unable to attend any of the course due to extenuating circumstances, you must inform EGL in writing

 

Force Majeure

  • EGL shall not be liable to refund any fees, or for any other penalty should courses be cancelled due to war, fire, strike lock-out, industrial action, tempest, accident, civil unrest, pandemic, or any other cause whatsoever beyond their control

 

Online Shopping

  • EGL does not store customer credit or debit card details
  • Returns and refunds are in conjunction with your statutory rights and entitles you to a 28-day refund, provided goods are returned in their original, re-saleable condition upon return to ‘The Electronics Group Ltd’
  • Return postage or shipping costs to EGL is to be agreed between you, the customer, and a courier of your choosing, to be delivered to The Electronics Group, Airedale House, Clayton Wood Rise, Leeds, LS16 6RF between 08.00am and 17.00pm, Monday to Friday. These fees will not be covered by EGL

 

Non-solicitation of Staff

  • You shall not solicit or entice away or seek to entice away from EGL to work for your business, whether as principal, agent, partner, director, employee, secondee or consultant, any person who is employed by The Electronics Group or engage by EGL in providing any service
  • Should you be in breach of the above clause, then a sum shall become payable to EGL to cover The Electronics Group’s reasonable losses in this matter

 

Recruitment or Employment Services

  • Any business engagement with The Electronics Group to provide recruitment services will be subject to ‘EGL Recruitment Terms and Conditions

 

Entire Agreement

These terms and conditions, together with the current EGL prices, course details and EGL contact details, set out the whole of our agreement relating to the supply of courses, technical inspection services, recruitment services or associated material provision services to you by EGL. These terms and conditions cannot be varied except in writing signed by EGL Management or a Director of EGL. No terms and conditions incorporated within your purchase order, and nothing said by any person on behalf of EGL should be understood as a variation of these terms and conditions or as an unauthorised representation about the nature or quality of goods or services offered for sale by EGL. EGL shall have no liability for any such representation being untrue or misleading.

  • ‘Us’ in context of this document refers to The Electronics Group, including, but not limited to, it’s staff, board of directors, offices, logos, trademarks and all intellectual properties
  • The Electronics Group is referred to as EGL throughout this document. The Electronics Group is a registered company limited by shares. The Electronics Group company registration number is 09709489. EGL is a VAT registered company whose VAT number is: GB241349129
