Advanced Hand Soldering of Surface Mount Devices (Includes Reworking Techniques) – 2 Day Course

Course Overview:

This course, which follows on from our Introduction to Surface Mount Soldering course, explores the use of a range of soldering processes required to soldering as well as rework, and repair, surface mount components. Using a number of techniques, boards are prepared and soldered with lead-free solder and solder paste. A variety of solder compositions are used to ensure students have first-hand knowledge of the qualities and attributes of different solders.  discuss and demonstrate techniques for the safe removal of mis-aligned components, board clean-up or preparation and then the onsertion of the new device. These techniques are also suitable for prototype circuit building. Emphasis is placed on the diagnosis of visual faults that occur when reworking this range of components.

This course has been developed by The Electronics Group in line with IPC standards. However, this course is not accredited, delegates will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance.

What is covered in the Advanced Surface Mount Soldering including Rework course?
