Course Overview:
The course, which follows on from our Introduction to Through-Hole Hand Soldering Course, provides the knowledge and skills to carry out hand-soldering processes as well as enabling staff to recognise and rework any soldering faults relating to the standard assembly soldering process. The knowledge gained is, essentially, understanding and applying soldering techniques, recognition of soldering faults, the ability to rectify them and a thorough understanding of the quality of finished product. Component reworking is also a key feature of the course. The regular techniques of soldering are explained, along with the need for, and application of, flux. Typical faults are identified and methods of rectifying them are explained. Types of PCB finishes are discussed and used on the practical element of the course, whilst different types of soldering irons and stations are also covered.
This course has been developed by The Electronics Group in line with IPC standards. However, this course is not accredited, delegates will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance.
